This is a movie based on the book, "The Giving Tree". It is meant to be a visual aid to engage interest while studying and reading the book to class. During this assignment we learned how to make desktop movies. We were able to create wonderful visual elements and apply sounds to make for an interesting video to compliment any lesson. My goal was to have read this book to a Language Arts class then show this movie to aid in comprehension. A discussion would follow as this is a powerful story of giving, friendship, sacrifice, aging and many other things to get the students thinking.

This is a webpage assignment requiring the students to research various myths, legends and folklore. Webquests, when designed correctly, can be a great tool for creative thinking, researching and exploring resources for students. The idea of this lesson was to expand upon the text books and open creative thinking to explore some of the background information of myths. I think most students are interested in fantasy to some degree and find it interesting to see where some of these urban legends and fairy tales or symbols and stories come from.
